Have you been to the doctor lately?

I recently decided to go to the doctor this past week. There was nothing wrong wih me actually. I was just suprised that the 3 years I had been in canada, I had never been sick. Not even had a flu.
So, since I had health insurance with my University, I decided on having a physical.
Everything seemed fine but they recommended i see a gynecologist. When trying to set up an appointment, I found out that all the female specialists were booked for the whole year and it only remained a male doctor. I set the appointment either way and went for my check up.
The gynecologist was a man in his 40s. As if it wasn't awkward enough, he started making light conversations with me while he was inspecting my poom poom. I tried talking back but it felt so weird.
Anyways, I wanna thank God for making me have good health amongst other things. Especially being in this lonely cold country. Have a blessed Sunday.

Get Out of My Head!!!

I can see that you are no good.
Yet I keep thinking of you.
There always seems to be drama going on concerning you,
You can get girls with just the snap of your fingers

You are bad news.
But not ready for a commitment,
I'm looking for something more
Which you cannot provide for me

We talk often and have a good time,
Then who is this chick that comes up and say you guys are dating?
You tell me she's more than a friend and no more,
I have a feeling that there is something going on

I am not a prude, but I would never again be with someone who belongs to somebody else.
So why the fuck do I keep thinking about you??

Escorts

I got bored today and did what I like doing best - searching for random stuff on the internet. I wondered why I never saw any prostitutes soliciting for sex on the roads in canada unlike naija so I started searching.

I was surprised with the information I got. There are 2 types of prostitutes, or let me call them "escorts" because that is the term used. The first kind are the independent escorts, these are the people who make their own adverts, and set up their own appointments while the second kind are the escorts who are run by an agency. For those ones who are run by an agency, the agency takes 50% to 60% of the profits made by the escort, although there seems to be more exposure to high end clients this way.

I even found out that there were terminologies that these escorts use when advertising their wares. The following are examples:
BBW: Big and Beautiful Woman
CIM: Cum In Mouth
DFK: Deep French Kissing
GFE: The Girlfriend Experience
GREEK: Slang used for Anal Sex

Upon looking further, I also found out that there was a forum on some of these independent escorts and the male customers who had tried her out made commentaries on what the experience was like http://tosluts.com/forums/toronto-escorts-review/ . As if that line of work is not degrading enough.
It was interesting to read on what the costumers had to say though

Disclaimer: This blog is only for information purposes and i'm not advising or dissuading anyone on trying any kind of escort services.

Predictions

So I was in a nasty mood today,
I have to move out of my new place cos the stupid landlords decided to make up a list of rules and regulations for me to sign.
These were the ones I had problems with:
1. Do not use the washer and dryer
2. The kitchen cabinets are off limits
3. No friends allowed.
See, the landlords live in the same house with the tenants that is why they saw it fit to make up these kind of rules.
I refused to sign it cos i'm not gonna be deprived of the rent I am paying.
So, fuck them, and i'm moving out. Wish I could get my own place so that I don't have to go thru all this.

Not too long ago, I wrote a blog about bad landlords, not knowing that a few weeks later, I would be in the same position.

I Wanna Love

I remember the first time I fell in love. He felt the same way about me. But it did not last due to distance.
I have not really felt the same way about other guys since then. There have been some that I extremely liked but not loved. Even the relationship I am currently in.
Wanted to share this video because it reminded me of what it felt like to be in love.

Landlords and Tenants

I am currently packing my stuff and moving back to my school vicinity.
I got a call from my friend of two and a half years telling me that she was stranded. She said that she was having problems with her landlady. When she originally moved in to her apartment, the internet connection was included in her rent. All of a sudden, the landlady decided to cut off the internet connection. That was when the problem started. My friend decided to leave the apartment and hence, paid rent for the first week of september.

Today is a saturday and my friend was asked to pack out of the apartment on friday which is the day before. I told my friend that she could not stay with me because I was moving out the next day. I told her that she should not leave her current place of residence because the first week of September had not run out.

Even if the time period had run out, the landlady had no right to send her packing.
I told her that if the landlady tried to send her out, she should call the police.
My friend being a timid person decided to call other people to ask if she could stay with them. Being unsuccessful, she later called the landlady and said that she could not leave just yet and if she dared to throw her out, she will call the police. The landlady then said that it was ok that she could stay for a few more days.

This my friend's landlady wanted to take my friend for a ride and leave her homeless because she is an international student and did not properly know her rights. I just have to wonder why there are so many landlords who try to make life difficult for their tenants.

Multi-Tasking While Driving

There are lots of laws concerning driving on the road, like don’t drink and drive, wear a seat belt, and even the most recent law passed this summer in Ontario that says no hand-held devices allowed by the driver. So what happens when someone watches porn?

I was on my way to work this past summer and I stumbled upon a news article talking about a man who was watching porn while driving. Not only was he watching porn, but he was speeding 40km/hr over the speed limit. Big surprise, HE’S NIGERIAN. It’s a good thing that the newspaper did not indicate that he was black, talk less of being Nigerian.

The reason I knew he was Nigerian was because of his name, you see, as typical as African names are; I was able to point out that the guy was Edo. Is it me or is it weird that someone can watch porn at the same time multi-task? They never really said if he was masturbating too. Lol.

Workplace vs. School

It's been a while since I got to blog about anything. The summer job was taking most of my time and I'm getting prepared to go back to school and all.
I'm kinda excited to be going back to school, although I know I stand to face a lot of stress.
I'm the only black person in my class out of 75 people and any black female who didn't grow up in Canada will notice that it is pretty hard to be on the same thinking level as the white people you may meet in school.
Let's just say I don't have that many friends when I'm in school.

Relating to my topic, I was just thinking about how different school is from the workplace.
I have friends who are into the whole "I need to be of a specific kind of level and status among my peers",
"I am the guy or girl around campus" or "I don't feel like going to my first period, I just sleep in a little bit"
I'll have to admit that I'm just as guilty concerning the last statement.

In the workplace, no one really cares who you are or whom you were in school.
This is work and it is real life. You can't just say you are sleeping in cause you tend to lose out on the pay for the days you miss. You also have to learn how to kiss your boss's ass.
The only beneficial things are that you get to have "workplace experience" and get paid.

So although i do not really have as much friends in school, i'm broke most of the time,
Stressed all of the time, and go through the anxiety of exams.
I try to savor the moment, cos it doesn't get any better in the workplace

Father's Day

So today is Father's Day,
I want to wish all the fathers that are actually in contact with their children a happy father's day.
It's funny that Mother's Day is more celebrated than Father's Day.
Have you ever wondered how the world would have been if parents shared equal responsibility?
Ever wondered what would have happened if men took the role as women?
Sorry for my banter but i didn't get to wish my dad a happy father's day.
You may be wondering why, but the reason is that I just recently started talking to him.
Don't know the whole story but i know it took him 18 years to catch up with me.
I'm 21 now, so I barely even know what he looks like. I can't even bring myself to calling him dad.
So I say one more time, Happy Father's Day to the fathers, who were actually there.

Father, don't you see
What your absence does to me?
I used to be your little girl,
Now I'm struggling to find
My place in this world

Your lack of time and affection
Has made me defective
I search for love from the wrong men,
The kind set on living in sin.

I've become so cold and indifferent
Because of your distance.
I can't give my heart to anyone,
Your lack of love have caused
My emotions to come undone.

How will I ever have a relationship
As long as I keep falling in this pit?
Am I forced to live my life alone
Because you can't pick up the phone?

Father, why can't you see
What your apathy does to me?
I hate you for making me a statistic
And for making me go ballistic.

I hope the day will finally come
When you will see what you have done
If only you had really cared
And tried to be there.

Recession: Would you date a broke guy?

This was an interesting topic that I came across and would like to share it with you all.

NEW YORK - Sean Hamilton considered stopping his search for that special someone when he lost his job in January.
With 90 per cent less income and no unemployment coming in, the 34-year-old IT professional couldn't really pay for a dinner date. And how would he explain his financial situation without coming across as a slacker?
"To speak plainly, chicks don't dig a broke guy," said the Dallas resident, now a part-time consultant.
So he came up with a strategy: "I don't bring it up."
Men have been hit much harder than women by this recession. Close to 80 per cent of the job losses since December 2007 were jobs held by men, according to economics expert Mark J. Perry, who analyzed U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data. April unemployment was a seasonally adjusted 10 per cent for men and 7.6 per cent for women.
For some guys, unemployment is the last thing they want to reveal to a potential date. Even if men aren't expected to pay for a date, they feel pressure from women who are looking for someone who is financially stable.
"A lot of men are very careful not to say, 'I'm unemployed,"' said Pepper Schwartz, chief relationship expert at Perfectmatch.com. "They say, 'I'm working on this project. I'm taking a sabbatical from work' or 'You heard of GM declaring bankruptcy? I worked there.' They find ways to make it sound like it's not permanent."
Hamilton said when he is pressed, he says he's a consultant. He proposes cheap dates, like cooking an elegant dinner for a woman at her place.
Christie Nightingale of Premier Match, with clients in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York, said an unemployed man is a harder sell. She used to be able to brag to her female clients that a man worked in hedge funds, for example.
Now she has to explain that he is a great match in other areas - looks, religion - "but, you know, he's looking for a job."
"I find that women are very accepting," she said. "Some of the women are going through it as well. They have friends that have gotten laid off. It's the times that we're in."
Colin Deeb, 25, who was let go from his computer consulting gig in November, said he has had some experiences where women "seemed a lot less interested the second I told them that I was not gainfully employed."
But that has been rare for the aspiring actor from Brooklyn, N.Y. Deeb said it helps that he is actively looking for work and going on auditions. And he's gotten creative with dates - meeting for a bike ride, grabbing coffee or finding a cheap play.
"You learn to keep things simple when you're not working as much as you would like to be," he said. "Generally women have been OK with that."
Simple has its limits, though.
Melissa Braverman, who blogs about dating, said she knows someone who was asked out on a walking date and considered it a turnoff. And in the last six months, she's noticed that men don't suggest meals. When they meet for drinks, they limit it to one hour. She believes it's so she won't order a second drink.
"The recession is almost becoming an excuse," said Braverman, 35, of New York City. "Men don't want to take the initiative, suggesting something fun that is inexpensive. It's more well, 'I can't afford to take you out for a meal, let's keep it brief.' Unfortunately, a lot of times chemistry needs time to develop."
Schwartz said unemployed men need to keep a positive attitude and show potential mates that they are stable: "'I don't have a job but I'm doing everything I can to find one. I own my own house."'
Being too cheap can be a turnoff for women like Virginia Wall, 40, who works in retail sales in Philadelphia. She doesn't believe in coffee or drinks as a first date and expects the man to pay.
If he can't afford to take her to lunch - nothing fancy, just a casual place to sit and get to know each other over a sandwich - then he probably shouldn't be dating, she said.
"He shouldn't bring someone in his life if he can barely take care of himself," she said.
Sit out of the dating game, though, and you may miss out on the love of your life.
Christopher Floyd, 39, a photographer and video producer in Albuquerque, N.M., almost stopped communicating with a woman he met on eHarmony late last year because of his financial situation. His business has decreased 65 per cent and he is trying to do a short sale on his home.
But his potential love match, Angela Sowers, 31, who works in human resources in Sacramento, Calif., persuaded him to give the relationship a shot. She flew out with friends to meet him and the two hit it off.
Floyd is moving to Sacramento next week and will live with her parents, so the two can date locally.
Sowers, who has had to foot the bill for a few plane tickets, said she isn't too worried about his lack of income. She's hoping he can get his business going in Sacramento.
"The relationship isn't based on how much money he makes," she said. "It's who he is and what's in his heart that

matters to me."

Thick Chicks

I think the title says a lot for itself.
Being a typical african lady, i must say that I am quite endowed.
I am not on the big side nor am I skinny either.
It is nice having these assets but being happy with them does not work all the time for me.
For example, there are some clothes that the skinny girl can pull off that I can't.
Yet, I've learned to love the way I look and hence, below is a video for my fellow thick chicks.
